Why Buy Organic or Sustainable Products?

Why Buy Organic or Sustainable Products?

You may have see the letters (GOTS) on clothing labels and wondered what it means.  It standards for Global Organic Textile Standard and means that the product has been certified. Organic cotton is soft and will wash and wash again, and often hasn't had any chemicals used in its production.  Some organic brands wash their clothing in apple juice enzymes to avoid harsh chemicals being used in the production and so the fabric is super soft next to your child's skin. These companies also ensure that their cotton is sustainably sourced so they are committed to helping the environment.

Our wooden toys are Fair Trade products and are certified by the WFTO. The wood used is a by-product of tea farming! now given life as a wooden toy. The products are handmade and hand painted with care.

So next time you go shopping take a closer look at the label, is it made with quality organic cotton, ensuring those who make it are given a fair salary and will it last?  Is the button on the garment plastic, or is it actually coconut husks making it sustainable?
